Jeffrey City: modern ghost town

Driving through Jeffrey City should be part of any trip down highway 287, as it is one of the most interesting ghost towns you'll ever see. Jeffrey City is a uranium boom town, and before the arms treaties of the 1980s, the subsequent end of the cold war, and the decline of nuclear power in the US, the town had a population near 6,000 people. Over 99% of that population is now gone, but the streets and apartment buildings remain.
